What each basketball rating tells you

Use this guide to understand what each rating measures and how it can help you review a player or lineup.

Efficiency

TS%

True Shooting Percentage

Scoring efficiency across field goals and free throws.

Accounts for the extra value of three-point makes and estimates the possession weight of free throws, so a player who scores efficiently from the line is not judged on field-goal percentage alone.

Impact

TVIR

Team Value Impact Rating

Overall impact shown at a 40-minute rate.

Combines scoring, playmaking, rebounding, defence, hustle, and plus-minus. The 40-minute rate helps you compare players who play different minutes.

Average TVIR

A player’s average 40-minute impact across selected games.

Shows a player’s usual impact across the games and date range you select.

Season TVIR

A player’s total impact across the season.

Uses the minutes played in each game, so more time on court contributes more to the season total.

Team TVIR Average

A team benchmark on the same scale as player TVIR.

Gives you a team reference point for comparing an individual player’s impact.

Player Rating

An all-in-one impact measure for a game or range.

Built from productive box-score actions, missed shots, fouls, turnovers, plus-minus, and minutes played.

Effort

PR

Pressure Rating

A 0–100 defensive-intensity and effort rating.

Weights steals, blocks, Defensive Pressure Acts, one-percenters, rebounding, assists, and makes off turnovers, while turnovers and fouls reduce the result.

Combinations

Team Synergy Overall Score

A guide to the strongest starting combinations.

Combines player performance and lineup fit. Groups with only a few shared starts are treated with more caution.

Team Synergy Fit Score

How well a starting group performs together.

Compares the group’s shooting, defensive pressure, hustle, and plus-minus with each player’s usual performance.

Coach-recorded effort statistics

Defensive Pressure Acts
Coach-recorded defensive actions that apply meaningful pressure without necessarily producing a steal or a block.
One-percenters
Coach-recorded effort or hustle plays that may not appear in a conventional box score.

Team Synergy is an estimate

Team Synergy estimates how well starters may fit together from the games you record. Treat combinations with only a few shared starts as an early guide.
